Social Samvad / Jamshedpur : The Department of Joint Replacement and Orthopaedics, Tata Main Hospital, organised a Ponseti Technique Workshop for Clubfoot (CTEV) Correction.
The programme was aimed at strengthening awareness and skills in the early management of clubfoot in young children using the Ponseti method, a widely accepted technique involving gentle manipulation, serial casting and appropriate follow-up.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Vinita Singh, General Manager, Medical Services. The academic and practical sessions were conducted under the leadership of Dr. J. K. Laik, Head, Department of Joint Replacement and Orthopaedics, along with the departmental team.
The programme was organised in association with Tata Steel Foundation and included demonstration and discussion of the principles of Ponseti correction, casting technique, follow-up and prevention of recurrence.
Through this initiative, Tata Main Hospital aims to promote early detection, timely treatment and effective correction of clubfoot, thereby helping affected children achieve better mobility and long-term functional outcomes.
